Characterisation of insertion lines corresponding to candidate genes with EDS1/PAD4 dependent expression.
(A) RT-PCR analysis T-DNA insertion lines, as indicated. Ubiquitin was used to standardize transcript measurements between samples (shown for Salk_109557).
(B) Pathogen growth and plant resistance phenotypes in response to inoculation with avirulent H. parasitica Cala2 (recognised by RPP2) on Col-0 wild-type, pad4-1, sid2-1 and T-DNA insertion lines. Pathogen inoculations were performed as described in Figure 2C. HR, hypersensitive response; eHR, extended HR; TN, trailing necrosis.

Plant resistance phenotypes in response to inoculation with avirulent H. parasitica isolate Emco5 (recognised by RPP8) on Ler-0 wild-type, eds1-2, pad4-2 and fmo1-2. Localised cell death (HR) is intact at pathogen infection sites in Ler-0 wild-type, pad4-2 and fmo1-2, whereas an extended HR or limited trailing necrosis (TN) is observed in eds1-2. Pictures were taken 7 dpi.
