The degradation rate constant (kPI) and degradation half-time (t1/2) for D1 degradation were calculated from data fitted to first order reaction kinetics (A = A0e−kt) according to Sirpiö et al. (2007). Relative rate of D1 synthesis was calculated during a 1-h pulse under high light. Data are presented as means ± se (n = 3). WT, wild type.
